I have a problem

Posted in Group:

Hi, I'm Paige and I binge eat. Its starting to affect my career path (I'm 18 yr old ballet dancer, at a pre-professional level)

2 yrs ago I was in an emotionally abusive relationship with my then boyfriend. That's when I started binging to feel better.

I sometimes eat anything in site, I'm so ashamed when I wake up in the morning, it feels awful, I feel like my stomach walks me to the kitchen and I'm not even present.

I eat so healthy (again the dancer thing) so I even binge on healthy food like almonds and fruit...but cereal is a problem.

I dont' know how to stop. I think of myself as a strong person with great willpower but I feel helpless and i HATE this feeling. What do I do?

Hi there. I have dealt with binge eating for many years, tried every diet in the world. Nothing worked long term. What IS working is a book called "It's Not About the Food" , you can order it on Amazon online. I learned in order to stop binge eating, I needed to stop forever with the obsession of food, dieting, counting calories , excersing to burn calories, no more forbidden foods. Then when you give up all this nonsense obsession, the desire to binge gets less and less. No more food rules means never having to start over tomorrow, no more craziness. Definetly worth getting the book , so many questions to ask yourself in there. Really makes one think. Good luck. Raven
